I have not posted anything since his birthday. Landyn is getting over his ear infection and cold. As you can tell, he is feeling a lot better now.

Pictures of family while on vacation

While on vacation in Illinois, I got some good pictures of family. The image on the left is Aly and Bre holding Landyn, Sunday morning before church. Click on the picture to see Grandma and Grandpa holding Landyn. Even Great Grandma got to hold Landyn for a while.

More giggles.....

Even the smallest things make him giggle. I never tire of it.

Just Landyn and Daddy

Landyn and Daddy
Not one for self promotion, but I added an album of just pictures of Landyn and I.

On vacation, and at the pool

The girls took Landyn to the pool, while the guys went golfing. In retrospect, since my golf game is horrible, maybe I should have gone to the pool too. Grandma got everybody into State Farm Park. The girls look like they had a good time. Landyn does too. He looks happy behind the wheel.

Click on the picture to see more.

Yeah, that's right, relaxin in my ride!

Yeah, sitting in the shade, getting pushed around, and I just ate. This is the life. See more of me and other animals at the Miller Park Zoo.

I want to crawl sooo bad!

Rachel and I have found out that Landyn tries his best to crawl, only when there is something in front of him that he wants. At night it is his bottle. In this case it was the camera. He almost got it.

Yes, this is the last vacuum cleaner we will ever buy.

Rachel and I decided we needed a new vacuum for the house. Now that Landyn is getting ready to crawl, it seemed necessary. We purchased a Dyson DC24. The reason we purchased this one, was because it is only 11 lbs. Rachel loves it. It is light enough for her to carry upstairs, and picks up more than we knew had existed in dirt and hair in our house. It is truly AMAZING! The Dyson is hopefully the last vacuum we will buy. I say that, so it is on record, if we ever say we need a new vacuum, there had better be a good reason. This one was not cheap. Worth it, but not cheap.

A few hours at the Splash Park

Rachel and Landyn went to the Splash Park in Smyrna on Friday. Rachel said he had a lot of fun. He giggled and played in the water, and watched the bigger kids playing as well. We got a little blow up pool for the back yard, but I think it has a small hole. It does not stay inflated overnight. I will have to look into that. Looking forward to fun in the sun this summer though. Hope you enjoy the pictures. There will be more to come.

Day Trip to Chattanooga

I have not posted in a few weeks so I will try to catch everybody up. This past weekend Rachels' Mom & Dad (Grammy & Pappy) went with us to Chattanooga for the day. We started out our visit to the Chickamauga Battlefield. (Yes, I spelled it correct) We ate lunch at "Sticky Fingers" in downtown Chattanooga after riding on the Electric Bus (CARTA) from the Chattanooga Choo-Choo Holiday Inn. After lunch, another short bus ride down to the Creative Discovery Museum. I think Landyn had fun at the Discovery Museum although at his age it's hard to tell. Everything new to him is fun.

Cystic Fibrosis Walk at the Nashville Zoo

Every year Rachel and I do a walk to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. Those of you who contributed to this, thank you. They announced before the walk, donations raised today were over $40,000. To top that, online they raised over $100,000. Wow, thank you again to those who did contribute to this. If you did not know, a child that goes to our church has Cystic Fibrosis and we know his parents pretty well.

The day did not look like it was going to be a good day for a walk. Drove the whole way to the zoo, in what seemed to me, a monsoon. Once we got there, registered, the weather started to clear up. After that, it pretty much turned out to be a good day. Here are some pictures of our Walk for a Cure at the Zoo.

Update 5-16-09 3:09 PM: I have a favorite picture from today. Here is the link if you want my vote for best picture of the day. Anybody else agree? Two sizes. Original and Website (Reduced)

Landyn and the Exersaucer

Sorry, I cannot go very long without posting something about Landyn. I hope you don't mind.

Weekend Getaway

Well, some of you know we went to Chattanooga last weekend. Yes, I am just now getting around to posting pictures about it. I have been a little behind on keeping up with posting new content. While in Chattanooga we went on a ghost tour, visited Chickamauga Battlefield, and went to the Aquarium.

Online File Backup Site

Most people decide that they need to back up their files when a catastrophe happens. Their computer crashes, or hard drive fails. Don't wait until that point. Back up your files on your computer with this site. It is very easy to use and there is no real changing the way you store your files on your computer. I started to use this to backup all the pictures I have of Landyn, but now I realize I could use this for work and all our personal files as well. So far I like the way it works. The site monitors a folder on your computer and if there are changes to a file in that folder it uploads itself to the site. If new files are added they are sent to your Dropbox as well. You can even add files when away from your computer. Upload them to your Dropbox from the computer you are at, and when you get back to your computer at home or work (which ever is attached to your Dropbox account) your files will seamlessly be added to your computer. I know a lot of people look to me for advise on computers. I definitely recommend using this service. It is free of charge for a 2GB account. If you sign up through the link I give you, you will get an extra 250MB and so will I. I have all Landyn's original pictures here.

I learned this while watching daddy!

Look! All ready for football and no game to watch. He looks like a natural armchair quarterback.

Landyn did have to go back to the doctor today. His ear infection is still not going away. He had to get an antibiotic shot today and will get another on Friday. This will be the third attempt at an antibiotic to clear this up. Poor guy! Hope this works and clears that up for him.

Laughter is the best medicine

Laughter just makes us all feel better, no matter what.

All dressed up and somewhere to go

I know you don't catch me too often in a picture, especially with all of us together. Here we are all dressed up and ready for church on Easter Sunday. Don't we look nice? Landyn could not keep his hand out of his mouth, but it still is a nice picture.

A picture worth viewing

I came across this picture of Landyn when he visited Rachel's Nanny and Pappy in West Virginia. It really looks like Landyn was really interested in what Pappy was doing.

Murder Mystery Solved! I did it!

Rachel and I attended a dinner theater tonight. It was a little different. We actually played parts in the mystery. The theme of the mystery was "Murder at Pirates Cove". I played the part of Sea Legs Sam, and Rachel played the part of Antonia the Governors Daughter. I did not find out until after the murder occurred, that I was the guilty party. I spent the rest of the night placing blame of everyone else. It seemed to work as though only 2 out of 22 attendees saw through my disguise and pointed me out as the killer. The food and desert were delicious and filling. This all took place at a returaunt called the Chatterbox, in Smyrna TN. It is one of Rachel's favorites places. While all this was taking place, Rachel's Mom and Dad were watching Landyn so we could have some time out. Thanks again!

Landyn and the Easter Bunny

We took Landyn to see the Easter Bunny today at Stones River Mall in Murfreesboro. We had to wait a while to get his picture taken. Not because there was a line, but because they could not get their equipment to work. We went and had lunch in the mall and Landyn had his lunch too. When we went back to the Easter Bunny, they were still having problems but we still got them done.....eventually.

Update 3-29-09 6:35 PM: We have been receiving reports that the Easter Bunny is a little "creepy". Sorry if he looks scary, Landyn did not seem to mind.

Update 4-12-09 7:23 AM: Added link to the album of the original photos. Click here for the album

My cool new watch

My new watched arrived from Amazon.com last night. It is a Casio Waveceptor Atomic watch. No, the atomic does not mean it may explode. The atomic portion of the name means that it receives a time signal from the Atomic clock in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Click the link if you are interested in reading more about Atomic time keeping. Wow, this watch is really complicated compared to its looks. The manual is about 70-80 pages in very small print. I will have to get some links taken out to fit my wrist.

Rachel is back to work!

Rachel went back to work today. She dropped Landyn off at daycare, and I think she was a little sad that she was not going to get to spend all day with him. She said he did not seem to mind. Landyn got a good report card at the end of the day, with all his nap times and diaper changes recorded for us. I think it will take all three of us some time to readjusted to this new schedule. Rachel has to get up really early in the morning to make sure he gets fed and dressed to go, as well as herself. Wow she has got a lot to do in the morning. I really appreciate all you do Rachel!

A great weekend with my parents

My Mom and Dad came down for the weekend. Dad and I cleaned up the garage and put some shelves up. You would never know it was the same garage. We also tried to replace some shingles on the roof that blew off, but that was not happening. Our roof is just to steep. Yes I got scared. He also brought down his old tool chest for me. I guess I needed on to replace mine that I damaged thoroughly. We went to Opry Mills and walked around and did some shopping. My Mom really likes to shop! Overall it was great to see them again, and I am sure they were happy to come down, especially to see Landyn again. Sorry, Mom and Dad, this is the only good picture I could find of you. We need to take some more of you two together. Love you guys and can't wait to see you again.

Who me?

Just one, of many, pictures that make us smile!

Thank You Karin

My sister came by to visit Sunday night, on her way back from Atlanta. She helped out a lot on Monday morning by going with Rachel and Landyn to the Pediatrician. Landyn did get his shots, which is always dificult when you know it hurts. Karin stayed with Landyn while Rachel took Ginger back to the vet. We could not have done this without you.

Thank you!

Ginger wants some attention too!

Landyn seems to be getting all the attention on these posts so I thought I would give Ginger the spotlight for a little bit. Ginger is not feeling well right now. Rachel took her to the emergency vet last night. Turns out she has some sort of virus and she will be okay. The vet also said she was a little backed up and they would have to go in and clean her out. I bet that was not pleasant. She is back home now and recovering. She still is not yet herself, but it is good to know nothing major is wrong with her. Just some antibiotics and she should be okay. Click on the picture to see some more pictures of her. Hope everyone wishes her a get well soon!

Update March 3, 2009 8:34 AM : Rachel took ginger to Pet Med again on Monday, since she was still not better. The veterinarian spent a lot of time with Rachel and Ginger, and his diagnosis was that she most likely has a slipped disk in her back. That seems to be the point of her pain. We are suppose to limit her movement, up and down stairs and such, which is difficult.

Just for giggles, if you need to smile

Finally got around and put a couple videos out of Landyn. Every time he seems to giggle, eventually he gets the hiccups. The first video is of Mom tickling his feet. The second is Landyn giggling at Daddy.

Great Grandma and Pappy Cost

Landyn and I spent a few days with Great Grandma and Pappy Cost. Of course, I ate a lot while there as always, it was enjoyable to spend time with them. I know they enjoyed having Landyn there. Grammy and Grandpap stopped over as well for dinner on night as well. Landyn sure knows how to attract a crowd.

Pencil Drawing of Landyn

My mother had a co-worker, Jennifer Stoops, at State Farm make this pencil drawing of Landyn from an original photograph. Some other samples of her work are available on her website. This is hand drawn.

Happy Birthday Dad and Aly

Rachel and I traveled to Cincinnati to meet up with my family to celebrate my Dad's birthday, and my niece Aly. We left Landyn with Grammy and Grandpap for the weekend. We drove up on a Friday night and got there late after a small unscheduled detour (read as not my fault) through the backwoods of Indiana.

Saturday the guys went out and ran some small errands and back to the house to relax. The girls went to IKEA. They probably could have been there all day if we were not on a schedule. Saturday night we took Dad to "The Melting Pot", and as I expected, it was delicious. Then back to the house to open cards and presents.

Dad got a Kindle 2 and quite a few nice cards. The next day Aly opened her presents. She got a cell phone. I think she was happy.
